What this can feel like

When eating becomes emotional relief, willpower can feel unreliable

Food patterns can become linked to stress, comfort, boredom, shame, reward and restriction. The aim is not punishment. The aim is understanding and change.

How the pattern works

Why subconscious and emotional pattern work may help

The difference between hunger and emotional urge

Physical hunger usually builds gradually and can be satisfied by a range of foods. Emotional urge can feel sudden, specific and driven by stress, tiredness, boredom or discomfort.

  • Body hunger
  • Emotional craving
  • Stress response
  • Restriction rebound
  • Reward seeking

How hypnotherapy and EFT may support craving control

Hypnotherapy and EFT may support a calmer internal state and help rehearse new responses to old eating triggers. The focus is creating more awareness and choice, not promising a cure or a quick fix.

  • Craving awareness
  • Emotional regulation
  • Subconscious association work
  • Pause before eating

Building a healthier relationship with food

Food cannot be removed from daily life. The goal is to reduce the emotional charge around eating and support a steadier, more respectful relationship with your body and choices.

  • Less shame
  • More steadiness
  • Balanced routines
  • Greater choice

Between sessions

Daily reinforcement steps

Small repeated actions help make the support practical outside the session space.

  • Eat at steadier times where possible.
  • Avoid extreme restriction that can increase rebound urges.
  • Pause before eating to identify hunger, emotion or habit.
  • Keep early trigger foods managed rather than relying on willpower alone.
  • Use non-food emotional regulation options when stress rises.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is food addiction the same as binge eating?

They can overlap, but they are not always the same. This support focuses on cravings, emotional eating, loss of control patterns and the triggers behind repeated eating behaviour.

Is this a diet plan?

No. The programme is not a diet plan. It focuses on emotional triggers, craving control, subconscious patterns and building a healthier relationship with food.

Can hypnotherapy help food cravings?

Hypnotherapy and EFT may support craving awareness and emotional regulation, but results cannot be guaranteed. The work is designed to create more space between urge and action.

Can I still eat normally?

Yes. Unlike substances that can be avoided completely, food is part of daily life. The goal is a calmer, more conscious and more balanced relationship with eating.

Is this suitable for eating disorders?

This is not a replacement for medical, psychiatric, dietetic or specialist eating disorder care. If you have an eating disorder diagnosis or medical risk, speak to a qualified healthcare professional first.
